Juillet, août, septembre…
Je m’étais promis juré de parler sans tarder du retour de Miikkael, et des séjours de Léonard, Sarah, Anna, Julia, Yvan et Lamia.
Puis est arrivé ce vendredi sinistre et j’ai écrit dans l’urgence, abandonnant encore une fois la chronologie.
July, August, September …
I had promised myself, I swore, to tell without delay Miikkael’s return and the visits of Léonard, Sarah, Anna, Julia, Yvan and Lamia.
Then came Friday’s disaster and I wrote in the emergency, once again leaving the timeline.

Et je l’abandonne encore une fois, la chronologie, mais pour un motif très sympathique cette fois :  le concert de Martine Scozzesi chez nous le 7 novembre.
And once more I abandone the timeline, but for a very nice reason: Martine Scozzesi’s concert in our home on November 7th.

Martine ? Je ne la connaissais même pas. Elle avait appris l’existence de nos spectacles à domicile, m’avait proposé le sien, alors je m’étais promenée sur son site, et j’avais aimé sa voix, son expressivité. Et aussi sa force, son énergie.
Nous nous sommes croisées à Barjac pendant moins d’une minute dans la fièvre du festival, afin qu’elle puisse mettre une tête sur mon nom. Il est loin le temps où j’ai pu proposer à Christopher de venir chanter chez nous, mais uniquement parce que nous nous connaissions !
C’est la première fois que j’invite une personne que je n’ai jamais vue sur scène.
Martine? I didn’t even know her. She heard about performances in our home, offered me her, so I had visited her site, and I loved her voice, her expression. And also her strength, her energy.
We met in Barjac for less than a minute in festival fever, so she can recognize myself. It’s long ago when I could propose to Christopher to come and sing with us, but only because we knew each other!
It was the first time when I invite someone I have never seen on stage.

Qui est-elle ? Tout est vrai dans la chanson où elle évoque son grand-père, venu d’Italie avec pas grand-chose comme bagage.
Who is she ? Everything is true in the song where she talks about her grandfather coming from Italy with not much as baggage.

Huitième spectacle à domicile : Paul et moi sommes rodés. Le samedi matin je vais tranquillement emprunter des chaises au lycée sous l’égide de son provisoire proviseur approvisionneur. Martine, Riton et Samuel arrivent en fin de matinée et nous ne tardons pas à passer à table. Paul et moi avons préparé un repas tout simple qui est dégusté comme repas de fête. Nous avons l’habitude de cuisiner avec des bons produits, serions-nous une espèce en voie de disparition ?

Eighth show in our home: Paul and I are efficient. On Saturday morning I go quietly to borrow chairs in the high school under the aegis of its provisional headmaster Purchaser. Martine, Riton and Samuel arrive late morning and we soon begin to eat. Paul and I have prepared a simple meal that is eaten as a holiday meal. We use to cook with good products, are we endangered species?

Routine pour tous ensuite, les uns pour installer le matériel, nous pour faire de la place, aider à déménager le piano… Routine encore pour accueillir le public, indiquer aux gens où se garer.
Then routine for everybody, some install the equipment, we make room, we help to move the piano … Routine to welcome the public, telling people where to park.

Enfin le concert débute, Samuel Péronnet et Riton Palenque entrent sur un instrumental, bientôt rejoints par Martine.
Les chansons se succèdent alors, nombreuses, belles et variées. Les musiques sont elles aussi belles et variées. Je suis persuadée que dans le public, chacun sera frappé davantage par une chanson précise, qui le touchera au plus profond, qui lui parlera encore plus que les autres.
Finally the concert begins, Samuel Péronnet and Riton Palenque come in, playing an instrumental, soon joined by Martine.
The songs then succeed, numerous, beautiful and varied. The musics are also beautiful and varied. I am convinced that in the audience, everyone will note a song more especially, being deeply touched, one song that will “speak” to someone.

Mais ce qui frappera sans doute le plus la benjamine de l’assemblée, Loreleï, dix ans, c’est d’être invitée à danser par Martine. D’abord un peu intimidée, Loreleï ne tarde pas à suivre en rythme.
But probably what the young Loreleï, ten years, will remember is that Martine invited her to dance. First a little intimidated, Loreleï soon dances on the right rythm.

Le public a été conquis dès les premières chansons. Pour ma part j’apprécie cet enchaînement d’un titre à un autre, la justesse de l’interprétation et la qualité des accompagnements. Voilà un trio qui marche main dans la main, avec une grande complicité.
The public was enthousiast from the first songs. Personally I like this succession of title to another, the accuracy of the interpretation and the quality of the musicians’ play. This is a trio that works hand in hand with a great complicity.

Je le répète à chaque nouvelle découverte : les médias ne font pas leur boulot. Des artistes comme Martine Scozzesi, Riton Palenque et Samuel Péronnet devraient être plus connus. Ce n’est pas le public présent ce soir-là qui dira le contraire. Il passe un fort courant de sympathie qui certainement encourage notre énergique équipe à se donner à fond.
I repeat this everytime when I discover new talents: media don’t work as they have to. Artists like Martine Scozzesi, Riton Palenque and Samuel Péronnet must be more famous. The audience in our home this evening doesn’t say other thing! Sympathy runs and it’s sure that it gives more courage to the energetic team to give the more than it can.

On voit venir la fin de la prestation quand Martine passe dans le public serrer la main à chacun : je trouve l’idée fort sympathique et je suis loin d’être la seule.
Les applaudissements sont nourris et se prolongent.
A short time before the end of the show, Martine shakes hands with everyone: the idea is very nice and the audience loves it.
The applause are intense and long.

Après cela, comme d’habitude, on empile les chaises, on traîne la table au milieu et une foule de gens apporte depuis la cuisine la nourriture que Paul y avait regroupée.
After this, as usual we stack the chairs, we carry the table in the middle of the dining room and a crowd of people brings food from the kitchen where Paul had gathered it.

Je reste quelques minutes dehors, le temps d’accompagner une amie, et quand je rentre, Loreleï chante au micro, accompagnée par Riton et Samuel : c’est la seconde mi-temps ?
Je suis invitée à chanter à mon tour et je suis contente de le faire, mais ma petite prestation n’est pas d’un très bon niveau. Ce qui n’empêche pas la soirée de continuer dans une ambiance excellente !
I spend a few minutes outside to accompany a friend, and when I get home, Loreleï sings with the microphone, accompanied by Riton and Samuel, this is the second half?
I am invited to sing in my turn and I’m glad to do it, but my little benefit is not excellent. This does not keep the evening from continuing with such nice atmosphere!

Une fois tout le public parti, comme les artistes sont toujours là on pourrait passer la nuit. Commencer par exemple par l’intégrale de Boby Lapointe, je suis allée chercher le coffret des  vinyles avec le texte de toutes les chansons. Mais c’est pourtant moi qui finis par donner le signal : tout le monde est mort de fatigue, on arrête là.
When all the audience is gone, artists being still there we could spend the night. Start eg the integral of Boby Lapointe, I picked up the box of vinyls with the text of all the songs. But however I give the signal: everyone is dead tired, we stop there.

Pour tous les spectacles précédents, les artistes ont dû repartir dans la soirée. Cette fois, nous avons le plaisir de les garder chez nous pour la nuit. Puis une bonne partie de la journée du lendemain !
At the end of all the previous shows, the artists had to return in the evening. Today, we are pleased to keep them at home for the night. Then much of the next day!

Chacun profite de ce moment de tranquillité et mène sa vie comme il l’entend, on se croise, l’un part faire une balade, l’autre boit un café… Un beau soleil invite à sortir, au moins à visiter le parc. Nous passons encore beaucoup de temps à bavarder de toutes sortes de choses.
Everyone takes advantage of this moment of tranquility and leads his life as he wants, one meets an other one, one takes a walk, the other drinks coffee … A beautiful sun invites to go out, at least to visit the park. We still spend a lot of time chatting about all sorts of topics.

Quand Martine, Samuel et Riton nous quittent finalement, je m’aperçois que j’ai l’impression de les connaître depuis toujours, que ce sont des amis de longue date. Ce sont de beaux humains, le contact est facile, nos sensibilités s’accordent.
When Martine, Samuel and Riton finally leave us, I realise that I feel I have always known them, they are long-time friends. These are beautiful humans, the contact is easy, our sensibilities agree.

Bonne route à tous les trois, au plaisir de se retrouver, ici, ou là…
