Depuis longtemps Paul en rêvait, de cette cabane. Moi de mon côté je ne comprenais pas bien ce projet à cause des nuisances proches, bruits et odeurs.
For a long time Paul dreamed of this cabin. On my side I did not understand this project because of the nearby nuisances, noises and smells.

Finalement Dom et Séb ont donné un bon coup de main et la cabane est sortie de terre. Les deux frangins ont des modes de vie tellement différents que l’occasion de travailler ensemble est exceptionnelle. On a passé de bons moments.

Finally Dom and Seb gave a hand and the hut came out of the ground. The two brothers have such different lifestyles that the opportunity to work together is exceptional. We had a good time.

Une cabane en entraîne une autre, Sébastien a pris le goût de construire des maisons. Il a vécu environ un an dans la première, l’a vendue, et en a construit une autre, sur des plans qu’il a conçus à chaque fois.
Bon, il y a un décalage entre les photos et mon texte : vous la verrez plus bas, la tiny house !

One hut leads to another, Sébastien enjoyed building houses. He lived for about a year in the first, sold it, and built another, on plans he designed each time.

Lors de la première sortie du premier « chamion » (chalet-camion), nous étions dans notre voiture pour filmer l’événement. Je me rappelle un piéton qui a sursauté et n’a plus quitté des yeux le drôle de véhicule aussi longtemps qu’il a pu le voir.

At the first exit of the first « chamion » (chalet camion / chalet-truck), we were in our car to film the event. I remember a pedestrian who jumped and did not leave the eyes from the strange vehicle as long as he could see it.

Sauf quand il y a des pièces trop lourdes et/ou peu maniables, Sébastien travaille tout seul (autant dire qu’il a tout fait tout seul sauf deux ou trois heures de travail). Je l’admire vraiment : ses deux maisons sentent bons le bois, elles sont lumineuses, confortables.

Except when there are too heavy and / or unwieldy parts, Sébastien works alone (as much as he did everything alone except two or three hours of work). I really admire him: his two houses smell good wood, they are bright, comfortable.

Un de mes regrets est de ne pas être manuelle : je suis attirée par toutes sortes de bricolages mais je ne pratique pas. Peut-être que cela va se faire. Je le souhaite vivement.
One of my regrets is not to be manual: I am attracted by all kinds of crafts but I do not practice. Maybe it will be done. I hope so.

Les gens qui visitent le chamion sont admiratifs pour la quantité de travail, sa qualité, et aussi le côté créatif dans l’aménagement et la décoration, toutes choses qui sont évidentes dans ce cas.
The people who visit the chamion are admiring for the amount of work, its quality, and also the creative side in the layout and decoration, all things that are obvious in this case.

Véronique Pestel m’a remerciée pour ma précédente publication, notamment pour mon regard sur le travail de Babeth. Eh bien… n’était-il pas évident qu’un gros travail précède le début d’un concert ? Y compris l’installation ? Après avoir pensé cela, je me rappelle que moi aussi, je ne trouvais pas particulièrement important le soin apporté à l’installation de la scène… jusqu’à ce que je sois en mesure d’apprécier ces préparatifs.

Véronique Pestel thanked me for my previous publication, especially for my view of the work of Babeth. Well … was not it obvious that a big job precedes the beginning of a concert? Including the installation? After thinking about this, I remember that I, too, did not think it was particularly important to take care of the installation of the stage … until I was able to appreciate these preparations.

Entre le chamion et l’aménagement d’une scène de spectacle, il y a un point commun : cette détermination à faire avancer un projet en résolvant tous les problèmes.

Je regrette que nos regards pressés nous empêchent le plus souvent de prendre toute la mesure des efforts réalisé, pour un chamion, pour l’aménagement d’une scène, mais aussi pour tout ce qui est créatif, et peut-être encore pour la plupart des travaux, si l’on y réfléchit ! Fabriquer quelque chose, même si l’on est plus dans le domaine de l’artisanat que de la création, demande énergie et réflexion. La réalisation fait passer par des moments de doute, d’inquiétude, bref, il faut parfois un véritable acharnement pour aboutir ! Le plus souvent nous ne sommes pas conscients de tous les efforts nécessaires au travail que d’autres ont fait.

I regret that our urgent looks often prevent us from taking full measure of the efforts made, for a chamion, for the arrangement of a scene, but also for all that is creative, and perhaps for most works, if we think about it! To manufacture something, even if one is more in the field of the craft industry than of the creation, demands energy and reflection. The realization makes go through moments of doubt, worry, in short, it sometimes takes a real hard to achieve! Most often we are not aware of all the necessary efforts at work that others have made.

Mais ici les visiteurs admirent le chamion, la cabane au fond du parc, ou encore le parc lui-même. Nous le faisons visiter de plus en plus souvent, et il laisse une impression profonde. On se perd dans ses coins et ses recoins. Ici les efforts sont évidents, nos visiteurs sont admiratifs.

But here visitors admire the chamion, the cabin at the bottom of the park, or the park itself. We offer to visit it more and more often, and it leaves a deep impression. We get lost in its nooks and crannies. Here the efforts are obvious, our visitors are admiring.

La cabane est cachée dans presque une forêt — c’était un champ de maïs il y a vingt ans. Elle éveille toujours de l’enthousiasme. Elle a été le révélateur des rêves de Sébastien, qui rêvait de se construire sa maison : il a découvert qu’il était capable de le faire et que toute maison n’est pas obligatoirement en béton.

The cabin is hidden in almost a forest – it was a field of corn twenty years ago. It always awakens enthusiasm. It was the revealer of the dreams of Sébastien, who dreamed of building his house: he discovered that he was able to do it and that any house is not necessarily concrete.

L’an dernier, Georgi et Pat’ ont fait une partie du travail. Mais encore une fois Sébastien en a fait le plus. Et maintenant, je n’ai plus qu’à m’installer dans mon chez-moi. Mon ancre de sorcière. Je vais commencer peut-être par l’admirer sans rien y faire, cette petite pièce est tellement belle et confortable !
Last year, Georgi and Pat ‘did some of the work. But once again Sébastien did the most. And now, I just have to settle in my home. My « ancre de sorcière », witch anchor. I will start perhaps to admire it without doing anything, this small room is so beautiful and comfortable!
