Le dimanche, nous recevons souvent la visite de Dom, Lydie, Doris et Lou-Anne. Papy Paul a fait lire Doris qui fait de grands progrès.
Je laisse les autres remplir la réserve de bois, le « stère » qui nous sert aussi de mesure.
Je joue du piano, et parfois on entend l’accordéon de Paul.
J’arrête de remplir les mangeoires pour les oiseaux qui doivent de nouveau se débrouiller maintenant que la dernière neige disparaît.
Paul et moi allons marcher un moment quand nous ne sommes pas bûcherons.

On Sunday, we often have the visit of Dom, Lydie, Doris and Lou-Anne. Papy Paul asked Doris to read, she makes ​​great progress.

Lundi, pendant que nous faisions les bûcherons, j’ai recueilli un oiseau, un étourneau sansonnet, très mal en point. Incapable de voler, ni même de marcher, il s’est laissé capturer. Nous l’avons mis à l’abri dans une caisse, puis dans mes vêtements, et, une fois rentrée, dans l’obscurité et la chaleur d’un carton. Il y a passé la nuit au calme.

Monday, we were cutting the trees in the wood. I saw a disabled bird, a starling. It could neither fly nor walk, I could catch it easily. We dit put it into a box in Claude’s car, in my cloths when I went back home, and I let it in a cardboard box, in quiet darkness and warmth, during the whole night.

Le matin suivant, quand j’ai ouvert le carton pour le faire boire, il a pris son vol et a cherché la sortie : j’ai vite ouvert portes et fenêtres avant qu’il se blesse. Ciao le sansonnet !

Sur le web j’ai trouvé cette stupéfiante nuée de 300000 étourneaux. Je confirme, je les ai comptés. Désastre écologique ? Cette foule est aussi un peu effrayante.
